Innovate for Impact @ UNSW: Join BUILD-A-THON!

Are you ready to turn your ideas into real-world solutions? Brought to you by RAMSoc, UNSW Founders, and CSESoc, BUILD-A-THON is a dynamic, hands-on event where students from ALL DISCIPLINES can get involved! Whether you’re into tech, business, design, health, social sciences, or the arts, you’ll be collaborating in teams to work towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs).

 Duration: Weeks 2-6, T1, 2025

 Location: Design Next Studio, Level 5 Ainsworth Building (J17) and MCIC Makerspace

Registration Ends 21/2

 Cost: $10 per Student

 Who Can Join? Any student, from any background/discipline—no experience required!

 Team Size: 2-6

 Challenge Focus: Your mission is to design innovative solutions that contribute to one or more UNSDGs. Whether it's improving the quality of life for people with disabilities, automatically sorting waste, or mobilising drinkable water, your project will make a difference!

 Resources: Each team will start with a basic kit including:

An Arduino + Cable

Breadboard

Wires

LEDS

Resistors

Special tickets you can exchange for more parts at the shop!

 Workshops & Mentors: Worried about the technical stuff? Don’t be! We’ve got you covered with plenty of workshops and project help sessions presented by RAMSoc, UNSW Founders, and CSESoc, as well as experienced mentors to help you every step of the way.

 Showcase & Prizes: In Week 6, present your project to a panel of judges and compete for the top spots! 2K worth of prizes will be awarded for creativity, innovation, technical execution, design, and teamwork. Plus, you will also get the chance to look at what innovative designs your fellow students have come up with!
